Saturday August 18, 10-3pm
Nutcrackers in the form of wood carvings of a soldier, knight or king have existed since at least the 15th century. They are good luck symbols in Germany and the ballet “The Nutcracker” derives its name from this festive holiday decoration. In this class, you will learn a special technique for wool applique that gives the wool a more dimensional or trapunto look, all without any stuffing. You will also learn about transferring embroidery designs to wool and about piecing wool applique pieces.
