If you have tried smocking in the past, but haven’t done it for awhile, or have been curious about learning this technique, then this is the class for you! We will cover the basics of how you prep for smocking (Amy will demonstrate pleating fabric with a pleater) and learn basic geometric smocking stitches. Your pleated strip of fabric (provided with class) can be finished into a Christmas ornament, or a Smocked insert for a Sew Together Bag (see “The Perfect Bag” section) Amy will also show examples of how this long existing art can be applied in many modern ways (not just in cute little girl dresses!)
