CLASS:Eco Printing with Ruth Greenspan

Eco Printing, also called Botanical printing, is a process that transfers the natural pigments in leaves, flowers, and other botanicals to fabric, paper, felt or other surfaces. In the 1st class, participants will learn a basic method of botanical printing on silk and linen without using traditional mordants. The method we will use relies on the chemical reaction between iron and tannin in solution.
On the Second day, Marlina will show you how to create your own usable items. We will take your prints and make either a tote bag or a set of placemats. Sewing machines will be needed for the second class. This is a beginner friendly project. When you register for the class, instructions will be sent to you on how to harvest the plants you need.
The kit fee covers all your fabric and supplies. Please let us know 2 days ahead of the class if you need to rent a machine.
Kit fee $30.00
