CLASS:United We Stand 9-1pm
United We Stand is a wall hanging (25” x 23”) depicting a colorful,
patriotic, desert scene of cactus & desert critters standing up together for
the flag. It is executed in raw-edge, fused & machine stitched applique
in mostly batik fabrics for their mottled look & no fraying.
It’s an excellent opportunity to learn this simple technique & doesn’t require
any fancy stitching, just straight stitch. The wording is applied with a
heavy duty fusible that requires no stitching or could be done with an
embroidery machine if one is so inclined.
The patriotic border is assembled from strips (or scraps) of red, white & blue fabrics. There is
an option to use assorted beads or “Inktense” pencil for eyes & noses.
